About the artist
Egon Schiele (1890–1918) was an Austrian expressionist painter known for his raw and provocative style. A protégé of Gustav Klimt, Schiele's works delved into themes of sexuality, existentialism, and the human form, often marked by sharp lines and emotive use of color. His portraits and self-portraits displayed intense introspection and a stark departure from traditional aesthetics.
