Kono Bairei

Kono Bairei was a Japanese painter and calligrapher of the Meiji era. He was a master of the Nanga style, which drew inspiration from Chinese literati painting. Bairei's works often depicted landscapes, birds, and flowers with a refined simplicity and elegance. He also founded an influential art school called the Shijō School, which emphasized the fusion of traditional Japanese and Chinese painting techniques.
