Om konstnären
Ramon Casas i Carbó was a Catalan painter and illustrator known for his influential role in the Catalan Modernisme movement. Born in Barcelona, Casas studied art at the Llotja School and later in Paris, where he was exposed to the avant-garde art of the time. He became known for his portraits, genre scenes, and depictions of modern life, capturing the vibrancy of Barcelona's society and culture. Casas was a central figure in the artistic and intellectual circles of his time, and his work often reflected the social and political currents of turn-of-the-century Catalonia. He was also a prolific illustrator, contributing to numerous publications and journals.
