Gustave Loiseau
1865—1935Gustave Loiseau was a French Post-Impressionist painter known for his vibrant landscapes and cityscapes. Born in Paris, Loiseau initially trained as an architect before turning to painting. He was influenced by the Impressionist movement and later developed his own distinctive style characterised by bold brushwork and rich colours. Loiseau's preferred subjects included the French countryside, particularly the regions of Normandy and Brittany, as well as urban scenes of Paris. His works often convey a sense of light and atmosphere, capturing the fleeting moments of everyday life with a sense of spontaneity and vitality.
