Nomura Yoshimitsu
Nomura Yoshimitsu (1870–1958) was a Japanese artist from Osaka known for blending traditional ukiyo-e with Western techniques. Trained in the Utagawa school lineage and influenced by French artist George Bigot, he gained early fame for large-scale panoramic paintings of historical events like the Satsuma Rebellion. Though primarily a painter, he produced a small number of refined woodblock prints, most notably the 1931 "Kyōraku Meishō" (Famous Places of Kyoto) series in the Shin Hanga style.
