Café-Concert at Les Ambassadeurs - Edgar Degas
Edgar Degas (1834–1917) was a celebrated French artist renowned for his groundbreaking depictions of Parisian life, especially ballet dancers, at the turn of the 20th century. Often associated with Impressionism, Degas preferred to be called a realist, distinguishing himself with his meticulous attention to human anatomy and movement. Employing various mediums, from pastels to sculpture, his innovative compositions and experimental techniques offered a fresh perspective on contemporary subjects, making him a pivotal figure in modern art's evolution.
