About the artist
Sophie Taeuber-Arp (1889–1943) was a Swiss artist, dancer, and designer associated with the Dada and Constructivist movements. She was known for her innovative approach to geometric abstraction and her pioneering work in the fields of applied arts and textile design. Taeuber-Arp created bold, geometric compositions characterized by their rhythmic patterns and harmonious balance. She collaborated closely with her husband, the artist Jean Arp, and was instrumental in the development of the Dada movement in Zurich.
