About the artist
Ikko Tanaka (1930–2002) was a Japanese graphic designer known for his influential contributions to modern design. He was a leading figure in the development of the Japanese graphic design industry in the post-war period. Tanaka's work often combined traditional Japanese aesthetics with modernist principles, resulting in bold and innovative designs characterized by simplicity, clarity, and strong geometric forms. He was particularly renowned for his poster designs, corporate identities, and book covers, which helped to shape the visual landscape of Japan and influenced designers worldwide.
