About the artist
Frank Newbould (1887–1951) was a British artist celebrated for his impactful poster designs, particularly during the interwar period. He was known for his bold use of colour, strong graphic compositions, and skilful depiction of dynamic movement. Newbould's work encompassed a wide range of subjects, including travel, advertising, and propaganda, and he collaborated with various clients and organisations. His posters, often characterised by striking imagery and concise messaging, played a significant role in shaping public perception and influencing popular culture during his time.
