About the artist
Joseph Schillinger was a Russian-born composer, music theorist, and educator known for his innovative contributions to the fields of music composition and theory. While Schillinger is primarily recognised for his work in music, he also had a keen interest in the visual arts. He explored connections between music and other forms of art, including painting and sculpture, and he believed in the fundamental interconnectedness of all artistic disciplines. Although Schillinger's primary focus remained on music, his interdisciplinary approach and holistic view of the arts demonstrate his broader creative vision and the depth of his artistic interests.
