About the artist
Alphonse Mucha was a Czech Art Nouveau painter, illustrator, and graphic designer. He gained international fame for his distinctive decorative style, which was characterised by sinuous lines, organic forms, and stylised depictions of women. Mucha's work includes posters, book illustrations, and decorative arts such as furniture, jewellery, and theatre sets. His most famous work is likely his "Four Seasons" poster series, which features elegant female figures surrounded by floral motifs. Mucha's style was highly influential in the Art Nouveau movement, and he continues to be celebrated for his innovative and distinctive approach to design.
