About the artist
Émile-Alain Séguy (1877–1951) was a French artist and designer best known for his significant contributions to the Art Deco and Art Nouveau movements. Drawing inspiration from nature, especially insects, Séguy produced vibrant and intricate pattern designs often used in textiles, wallpapers, and other decorative arts. Combining meticulous details from his entomological studies with a keen sense of color and composition, his works stand as a unique fusion of science and art.
