About the artist
Yayoi Kusama (born 1929) is a Japanese contemporary artist known for her avant-garde and distinctive style of art. She began her career in Japan in the 1950s, but later moved to the United States where she became associated with the Pop Art movement. Kusama's work often explores themes of infinity, repetition, and the subconscious, and includes installations, paintings, sculptures, and performance art. She has achieved international recognition and has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions at major museums and galleries around the world.
