About the artist
Joan Miró (1893–1983) was a Spanish painter, sculptor, and ceramicist known for his distinctive surrealist style. A pioneer of 20th-century avant-garde art, Miró's work often explored themes of fantasy, dreams, and the subconscious mind. His paintings are characterised by biomorphic shapes, playful symbols, and vibrant colours, reflecting his fascination with the unconscious and the imagination.
