Tsuchiya Koitsu (1870–1949) was a renowned Japanese woodblock print artist known for his beautiful landscapes and night scenes. He was associated with the shin-hanga ("new prints") movement, which revitalized traditional ukiyo-e art. Koitsu's prints often depicted tranquil vistas, historic landmarks, and urban scenes, particularly in Tokyo. His works showcased a mastery of perspective, mood, and color, capturing the serene beauty of Japan. Koitsu's collaboration with publisher Watanabe Shozaburo brought his art to a broader audience, contributing significantly to the shin-hanga movement's popularity and enduring legacy.
