Henriëtte Ronner-Knip was a Dutch-Belgian painter known for her exquisite depictions of cats, particularly in domestic settings. Born in Amsterdam, Ronner-Knip showed an early talent for art and received training from her father, the animal painter Joseph August Knip. She later studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Ronner-Knip became celebrated for her charming and meticulously detailed paintings of cats, capturing their personalities and behaviours with warmth and affection. Her works often depicted cats in elegant interiors, engaging in playful or contemplative activities.
