Lucio Fontana

Lucio Fontana (1899–1968) was an Argentine-Italian artist known for his pioneering work in the fields of Spatialism and Conceptual Art. He was a key figure in the post-war European avant-garde movement, challenging traditional notions of art and space. Fontana is best known for his "Spatial Concept" series, in which he punctured or slashed monochromatic canvases to create spatial voids, merging painting with sculpture and exploring the relationship between surface and depth.
