Star Retrograde
Based in South Africa, str.rtgd (pronunciated as star retrograde) is a design forward, retro inspired poster and branding initiative that is heavily inspired by 70s soul, late 80s to 2000s JDM culture and general appreciation of all things obscure and underground.
The goal of the initiative is to explore the ins and outs of design and its many capabilities, and to bring a focus onto the emerging design scene in Southern Africa, through the uses of digital illustrations, photography and photo editing alongside traditional art and a bit of poetry.
The initiative is led by Anesu who is the main designer, and founder of the initiative with a small group of collaborators.
