Kikukawa Eizan
1787—1867Kikukawa Eizan was a Japanese ukiyo-e artist known for his elegant bijin-ga (pictures of beautiful women). He was active during the late Edo period and belonged to the Utagawa school of painting. Eizan's prints often featured graceful women adorned in elaborate kimono, depicted in scenes of leisure, beauty, and romance. His meticulous attention to detail, refined line work, and vibrant colour palette made his prints highly sought after during his lifetime and continue to be admired for their beauty and craftsmanship today.
