Robert Vonnoh
1858—1933Robert William Vonnoh was an American Impressionist painter known for his landscape and portrait paintings. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Vonnoh studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and was influenced by French Impressionism. He was a member of the American Impressionist movement and exhibited his works at prestigious venues such as the Paris Salon and the National Academy of Design. Vonnoh's paintings often featured vibrant colours, loose brushwork, and a keen observation of light and atmosphere, capturing the beauty of the natural world with sensitivity and skill. He is particularly renowned for his landscapes depicting the countryside of New England and the French countryside.
